And how does it work?

Hi there! I’m Rona Herman, author of this fabulous quilting travel blog, and I have a dream.
All my adult life I’ve suffered with debilitating anxiety and depression. Just the act of talking to a perfect stranger gave me a panic attack. But getting up in front of a crowd? More like, curled up in a ball paralyzed with fear. It was that bad.
Then, I discovered quilting. And through quilting I found the vast world-wide quilting community and what a magical thing it is. Simply by reaching out to other quilters, taking one step at a time, I was able to learn to control my anxiety and push past my fear to finally become the superstar I am today! Well, superstar in my mind anyway. 🙂
So what’s my dream? My passion is to introduce quilters like you to that same vast quilting community, no matter where you are! Whether you’re in an RV at a KOA, a pup tent in the Everglades, a hotel room in London or simply in your own sewing room, as long as you have an internet connection, you can join the community!!
Think of this as kind of like a virtual Quilters Guild. We have monthly speakers, participate in group projects, share techniques and advice. Plus, I may even have a few freebies to give away!!

What do you get in the Quilter’s Community?
I fully understand that not everyone has a ton of extra money to spend each month. Therefore, I opted to create 3 different patron levels that you can join. Each level comes with different content for you to enjoy!
Included in the various packages are:
Behind the Quilts Podcast
Each month you get early access to new episodes of the ‘Behind the Quilts‘. A one of a kind podcast that gives you a look ‘behind the curtain’ at our vast quilting world. Each month will have a new guest speaker and even a few fun roundtable events!
Click HERE to listen to the first episode, To Vend or Not to Vend!

At the various levels you’ll receive FREE quilt patterns, FREE shipping, discounts on the E-store and, the VIP level gets a free gift every time we reach our community goals!!
But most importantly, this Quilter’s Community is all about YOU. It’s a place where ALL levels allow you to connect with other quilters around the world to learn, chat and enjoy the fellowship that makes up this amazing world of ours.
Each week I’ll be sharing discussion topics and answering your questions. Do you have a suggestion for a monthly topic? Share them!

The Quilter’s Community is run through the Patreon platform. If you’ve never interacted with Patreon before, that’s ok. I’ve answered a few questions below to give you an idea of how things work.
So, What is Patreon?
“Patreon is a way to join your favorite creator’s community and pay them for making the stuff you love. Instead of literally throwing money at your screen (trust us, that doesn’t work), you can now pay a few bucks per month or per post that a creator makes. For example, if you pay $2 per video, and the creator releases 3 videos in February, then your card gets charged a total of $6 that month. This means the creator gets paid regularly (every time she releases something new), and you become a bonafide, real-life patron of the arts. That’s right–Imagine you, in a long frilly white wig, painted on a 10-foot canvas on the wall of a Victorian mansion. And imagine your favorite creators making a living doing what they do best… because of you.”
Is Patreon like facebook?
Yes and No. It is like Facebook in that it is another social media platform where we can connect with one another and you can receive tons of great content.
However, it is NOT like Facebook in that this is a paid member community. Each membership level unlocks different content for you to access. Not only will you have access to all of the new content, but also all of the past content as well.
Your monthly patronage literally pays to keep this community thriving and striving to become bigger and better every day for you!
How do i get notified of new content?
You can control what content you receive in your email by updating your profile settings. To do this, for to your Patreon homepage and look for your avatar icon in the top right hand corner of your screen (if on a desktop computer). Click on it to open a drop down menu. Then click on “My Profile Settings.”
From the menu across the top you should see “Email Notifications.” Click on it. Scrolling down this list you can control which emails you receive from the pages you made pledges to. Simply click the little slide marks to turn them on or off.
Rest assured, as an amazing Patron, you will be receiving my Newsletter twice a month with links to everything I’ve posted throughout the month. That way, even if you don’t get notified as things go up, you still won’t miss a thing!
