Located at the beginning of the Highway 36 Quilt Shop Trail, and on your way to Missouri Star Quilt Company, lies one of the most warm, wonderful and welcoming quilt shop in the Midwest. Let me introduce you to Glenda’s Sewing Cupboard!

What is Highway 36 Quilt trail?

The Highway 36 Quilt Trail is an organized Shop Hop that follows Highway 36 right through northern Missouri from Hannibal to St. Joseph. Between April and October each participating shop puts together a quilt block kit that you can only get on the trail. All the blocks coordinate to make one complete pattern to put together and win prizes! How fun is that!? And yes… Missouri Star Quilt Company is also a participating quilt shop! As if you needed another reason to visit Quilt Town USA. 😀

It’s funny. Living in the ‘American South’, we’re pretty used to addresses that require you to ‘turn off the paved road.’ But, driving the motorhome out to Glenda’s Sewing Cupboard was an adventure in itself.

Seriously, there are hills, gravel roads, sharp turns. But this adventure leads to a grand prize. The warm welcome of Angela and her mother Glenda.

WHat you’ll find at glenda’s sewing

This family home turned quilt shop has everything you’d need to get started on your quilt project. Beautiful fabric selection in the ‘living room’, notions and precuts in the bedrooms. There’s even panels and patterns hanging in the hallway!

After perusing around the shop and finding the most fun little knickknacks and treasures, if there’s anything you can’t seem to find, just ask. These ladies are more than happy to help!

I know it may sound a little cliche. But in all honesty… when you’re here, you’re family!
