Welcome to South Dakota!
During the summer of 2012 my little family made the cross country trek to start our new lives here on the East coast. The one place I made absolutely sure we visited was South Dakota.
Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial are 2 destinations that should be on everyone’s bucket list. The sheer size and detail in Mount Rushmore is unreal. And, with the ongoing work of Crazy Horse, you get to see first hand how both monuments were (and are being) made.
Another MUST stop for any quilter has to be Dignity: of Earth and Sky. The gorgeous quilt clad Native woman is one of the most famous statues is all of America. Not to mention the fabulous other history, natural phenomenon and art that can be found across the state, South Dakota is definitely a destination worth making.

We have a new Fabric & Notions room located inside The Farmer’s Daughter on historic Main Street in Hill City. We opened in May of 2023 and are excited about seeing everyone this year!
Our B&W collection is stunning; we have Island Batiks; and we have the entire Fairy Frost collection! Be sure to make a day of it in Hill City! Shop our store, have lunch at Black Hills Bistro, a wine slushie while shopping the boutique at HippieRockStar and end the day with a fabulous ice cream cone!
